Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said on Thursday that the state government has set a target of attracting Rs 5 lakh crore of investment. This can be achieved if district officials personally ensure security and facilities for industrialists. This, he added, would encourage them to invest and expand.
“The government frames laws and schemes, but implementation lies with officials,” he said during a meeting with the District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police from across the state.

Addressing the officials, the Chief Minister said that the performance of District Magistrates and SPs directly impacts the people. Better work, he said, leads to direct public benefit.
He stressed that maintaining the rule of law is the government’s top priority. He said good governance must be visible on the ground. Its benefits should reach people on time.
The Chief Minister asserted that there would be no compromise on crime, corruption, and communalism. He added that people should feel the impact of good governance. Visitors from outside Bihar, he said, should also notice the change.
He asked the police to remain alert and prevent criminals from acting and assured full support to dutiful officers and their families.
He also stressed the safety of women and girls. He directed officials to implement the “Police Didi” initiative effectively. He said it must be ensured that girls can travel safely to and from school.
Referring to the prohibition law introduced by former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, he called for strict enforcement. He asked officials to act firmly against illegal liquor trade and dismantle such networks.
He also ordered intensified action against narcotics. “Strict steps should be taken against any officials found supporting such activities,” he said.
The Chief Minister announced that assistance camps will be held at the panchayat level. These will take place on the first and third Tuesdays of every month. He said all applications received at these camps must be resolved within 30 days. He asked officials to avoid delays and work as facilitators for the public.
